After three months, Google Maps app for iOS is finally available in the App Store! The official app is currently only optimized for iPhone and iPod touch, and is already available on the Android (Google Play) market. Google offered the Google Maps app previously only for Android users. Compared to Apple's own map app, it offers a number of additional features like Street View and public transportation information. The last additional feature is useful for when you use the bus, train or subway. Besides these features include Google Maps obviously also the known features, such as local information to discover great places to eat, drink and shop. It provides with users ratings, a button to instantly call and a button to save as favorite location.

The Google Maps app is available for iPhone (3GS, 4, 4S and optimized for 5) and iPod touch (3rd, 4th and 5th generation) that runs on iOS 5.1 or later. Currently unfortunately not available for the iPad, but will be soon!
