Specs

The screen get a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, just like the current iPad. The screen itself would be slightly thinner, the bezel around the screen is also reduced. This would correspond with the appearance of the iPad Mini. There were rumors that Apple will come with a new iPad Mini in the second half of this year. This tablet would be just like his big brother and get a Retina display that will provide sharper image.

Lighter and thinner

The 'big' iPad, according to the sources of Digitimes will be much lighter and thinner. This is to be possible by the use of a new solution around the touchscreen. Apple will use the same technology as the iPad Mini and therefore should the iPad 5 be 33 percent lighter than the iPad 4. The thickness will decrease, although the sources mention no figures.

The new iPad will probably run on iOS 7. The mobile operating system would get a big update.
