KLM Airplane game released for iPhone, iPad and soon for Android
LM has released a 3D simulation game for iPhone and iPad. Aviation Empire is remarkably no promotional app from KLM, but a real game where the player land aircrafts on different airports. It is to be a mix of simulation elements and the history of KLM, which began nearly a century ago. Performance in the game are shared with other users. The game was last thursday shown to the press and is now available in the App Store.
Pieter Elbers, chief operation officer of KLM, presented the game in Hangar 14 at Schiphol, where a real Boeing 747 served as a backdrop. He said that KLM has 3.9 million followers on Facebook and has actively wants to communicate with consumers. Martijn van der Zee, senior vice president of E-Commerce Air France KLM, explained that even further: "We found out through our social media messages that people want to be, want to join, really involved" says Van der Zee. The title of the game was ultimately determined by the consumer. This game is beaten a bridge between the real world and the virtual world. "Because 70% of KLM's customers come from abroad, it pays even more widely to develop a real game says Van der Zee.
Aviation Empire was created by Little Chicken Game Company, an Amsterdam developer who got the daunting task to discuss how the game will look. It was mainly a balance to be sought between game elements and realism. Of course is Empire Aviation a game which is created with a commercial company, but the balance seems to have been found. The various classical vehicles and the beautiful plates in the history of the company are for the lovers a nice extra, but you don't have to be 'airmaster' to play the game. Enjoy!
