There are a host of battery-saving, and monitoring iPhone apps, and most offer tips on how to extend your battery life, but the difference with PowerGuard is its multiple additional features that give you more than just a "Power saving" app - lets start by going over some of the more useful options.

Contacts Backup

Whether you use iCloud or DropBox (two of the worlds most popular Cloud Storage options), you can easily backup your contacts at any time. Once you've set up your account, its literally one-swipe to backup. Couldn't be easier.

Photo Privacy

Within PowerGuard you can create a password-protected photo album. Once you've set up the security its easy to import existing photos from your Camera Roll (don't forget to delete them from the main album afterwards) or start taking pictures from right within the app itself. This is fantastic for work-sensitive or otherwise private photos, especially if you let others use your phone.

The only drawback is that you can't save photos directly from sites, emails or messages into the App without saving to main Albums first, although I highly suspect this to be a limitation of the iOS and not of the app.

iPhone Usage Tips

As an added bonus there's an entire library of fantastic iPhone tips & tricks right from within the app. While I like to consider myself something of an expert, there were still a few hint I learned about from PowerGuard. A few of the details are a bit outdated as not everything has been updated for the most recent version of iOS7, but on the whole, and for the average user, this trove is quite educational. This alone could sell for the $0.99

Great UI

On a final note, I just want to say for a simple app that offers basic utility I'm pleased that they took the time to make a graphically pleasing UI. The only feature that is a bit frustrating is the "See Details" on the Battery screen, which requires a swipe-up, just as the control panel, and can be a bit tricky to work. Otherwise, the entire design is beautiful
